What is Tharwa USA? PDF Print E-mail

The Tharwa Foundation was first begun in the MENA region, by idealistic young activists in Syria.  Since then, it has grown substantially, with members spanning the Tharwa Commonwealth and beyond.  Its headquarters were moved to Washington, DC.

Tharwa USA is brought to you by the team at the Foundation's headquarters.  The Tharwa USA site will provide a portal to the latest insights, discussions and perspectives from American think tanks, government officials and academics in regard to the greater Middle East.  It will also feature panels and lecture series that bring together key figures from the US and the Tharwa Commonwealth

This access to the conversations taking place among academics, scholars, policy makers and government officials in Washington, DC will be accomplished through the use of video and through interviews performed by the Tharwa USA team.  Our Tharwa USA Videos will bring recordings of key events in the DC Metropolitan area to the wider world forum.  Our Expert Interview Series will follow up on important concepts with experts around the world.

It is our hope that by providing this coverage, we can inform readers about prominent issues concerning US foreign policy while fostering dialogue between communities.  Communication, conversation, and debate are crucial to true diversity.  Democracy cannot exist without them, and development cannot go forward without open and honest dialogue.  We hope that the resources here at the Tharwa USA site will help our readers engage in the kinds of conversations that promote all three of these things: diversity, development and democracy.

As always, Tharwa encourages its readers to join in the conversation more actively.  Please take a look at our Contribute page to see how you can take part in Tharwa's mission!
